Calculadora de equipos de piscina

Use Waterstar's free pool equipment calculator to determine the correct pump size, sand filter diameter, and number of skimmers needed for your swimming pool. This tool is designed for both pool professionals and homeowners planning a new pool installation or upgrading existing equipment.

How the Calculator Works

Our calculator uses industry-standard formulas based on pool volume, turnover rate, and filtration velocity to recommend the optimal equipment configuration. Simply enter your pool dimensions (length, width, and depth) and the calculator will determine the total water volume in cubic meters, the required flow rate based on a 6-8 hour turnover cycle, the recommended pump horsepower (HP) from our Super Star and Hyper Flow pump ranges, the ideal sand filter diameter for proper filtration, and the number of skimmers needed based on pool surface area.

Understanding Pool Turnover Rate

The turnover rate is the time it takes for the entire pool volume to pass through the filtration system. For residential pools, a 6-8 hour turnover is standard. Commercial and public pools typically require a 4-6 hour turnover for compliance with health regulations. Competition pools may need even faster turnover rates.

Pump Sizing Guide

Selecting the right pump is critical for efficient pool operation. An undersized pump will not circulate water adequately, leading to poor water quality. An oversized pump wastes energy and can damage the filtration system. Waterstar pumps are available from 0.75HP (SS-100M) for small residential pools up to 3HP (SS-300M) for large commercial installations.

Filter Sizing Guide

Sand filter diameter determines the filtration area and maximum flow rate. The filter must be matched to the pump output to ensure proper filtration velocity (typically 40-50 m³/h per square meter of filter area). Waterstar sand filters range from 20-inch (500mm) top-mount filters for small pools to 2000mm side-mount commercial filters for Olympic-size pools and water parks.

Skimmer Requirements

Skimmers remove floating debris from the pool surface before it sinks. The general rule is one skimmer per 25-30 square meters of pool surface area. Waterstar skimmers are available for both concrete and liner pools in standard and wide-mouth configurations.
