Оборудование для бассейнов для рынка Кении

Waterstar manufactures pool pumps, sand filters, LED lighting and fittings in Egypt and supplies distributors in Kenya. COMESA duty-free with a certificate of origin; KEBS PVoC handled before shipment.

What we manufacture and ship to Kenya

Waterstar is a swimming pool equipment manufacturer, not a pool contractor. Everything we supply into Kenya is produced at our own plant in Badr City Industrial Zone, east of Cairo, where we have built pool equipment since 1993 and from which we export to 14 countries. The range is a complete plant-room and pool-shell catalogue from one factory: self-priming circulation pumps in single-phase and three-phase versions, filament-wound sand filters from villa sizes up to 2000 mm, pre-assembled filtration units, 12 V underwater LED lighting with matching transformers and junction boxes, wide-mouth and standard skimmers, main drains, wall and floor inlets, ABS fittings and check valves, overflow gratings, stainless steel and plastic ladders, spa fittings and jets, and cleaning equipment.

Because every component is designed, moulded and assembled in-house, a distributor buys from one manufacturer rather than assembling a container from several trading sources — and the spare parts (seals, impellers, baskets, lids, multiport valves) come from the same production line as the units they belong to, years after the original shipment.

Specifying for Kenya's conditions

Kenya's pools sit in Nairobi's residential estates, the villas of Karen, Runda and Muthaiga, the hotels and clubs of the capital, the schools, and the coastal resorts from Mombasa to Diani and Watamu. Nairobi, at 1,700 m, has cool nights for most of the year, so heating and covers matter and the season is about water temperature rather than sun; the coast is hot and humid with salt in the air, so corrosion-resistant fittings, sealed electrical enclosures and stainless ladders of the right grade are what keep the maintenance company away. Filtration is sized for bather load in schools and clubs, which run far above villa turnover.

Kenya's grid is 50 Hz, as Egypt's is, so standard Waterstar pump motors, transformers and lighting are specified as catalogued; the 240/415 V supply in use is within the motors' rated tolerance, and the datasheet of each model states the exact figures.

Customs duty, VAT and documents for Kenya

Egypt and Kenya are both members of the COMESA Free Trade Area. Goods that meet the COMESA rules of origin — for Waterstar's equipment, the 35 % ex-works value-added rule is met comfortably — and ship with a COMESA certificate of origin enter Kenya free of customs duty; without it the East African Community common external tariff applies. Two levies apply regardless of origin: the Import Declaration Fee at 3.5 % and the Railway Development Levy at 2 % of the customs value, and VAT at 16 % is charged on the duty-inclusive value. Since 2025 Kenya requires a certificate of origin on every import. Kenya's Pre-Export Verification of Conformity (KEBS PVoC) applies to most goods: a Certificate of Conformity is issued before shipment by a KEBS-appointed agency in the exporting country — the importer's broker names the agency; we present the goods for inspection at Badr City before the container is sealed and hand over the test records the inspector asks for. The importer of record confirms the current figures with the Kenya Revenue Authority or its broker.

Any conformity registration the importing country requires for electrical or pool products is the importer's step; we supply the technical file, datasheets and factory test records it is built from, so that work is done from the manufacturer's data rather than reconstructed from a catalogue.

Shipping and commercial terms

Shipments leave from the Egyptian Mediterranean or Red Sea ports as full containers (20' or 40') or as LCL groupage, to Mombasa, down the Red Sea and through the Gulf of Aden — a direct Africa–Africa route with no transhipment hub in between. Quotations are ex-works Badr City or FOB Egyptian port, in US dollars, with the container plan worked out from the catalogue's packed volumes so a distributor's first order fills the box it pays for. We do not quote transit times on this page: they depend on the sailing and the port, and the forwarder's schedule at order time is the only honest figure.

The distributor position in Kenya

Kenya buys pool equipment through pool contractors who build and maintain, hardware and plumbing importers in Nairobi and Mombasa, and the facilities teams of hotel groups and schools. Supply has come from South Africa, Europe and China; an East African distributor stocking a manufacturer from the same continental free-trade area, shipped direct to Mombasa with spare parts from the same line, shortens both the route and the reorder cycle. We sell through distributors only — no direct sales and no installation in Kenya — and the programme is open to a company that will hold stock and support installers.

A first enquiry gets the range with wholesale terms so a container can be priced properly, sizing support from the engineers who designed the equipment, and datasheets for every line you intend to stock. We do not ask for an exclusive commitment before that conversation. Send the project types you serve and the categories you want to carry, and we come back with a costed proposal.
