Оборудование для бассейнов для рынка Туниса
Waterstar manufactures pool pumps, sand filters, LED lighting and fittings in Egypt and supplies distributors in Tunisia. Duty-free under the Agadir Agreement and GAFTA with a certificate of origin.
What we manufacture and ship to Tunisia
Waterstar is a swimming pool equipment manufacturer, not a pool contractor. Everything we supply into Tunisia is produced at our own plant in Badr City Industrial Zone, east of Cairo, where we have built pool equipment since 1993 and from which we export to 14 countries. The range is a complete plant-room and pool-shell catalogue from one factory: self-priming circulation pumps in single-phase and three-phase versions, filament-wound sand filters from villa sizes up to 2000 mm, pre-assembled filtration units, 12 V underwater LED lighting with matching transformers and junction boxes, wide-mouth and standard skimmers, main drains, wall and floor inlets, ABS fittings and check valves, overflow gratings, stainless steel and plastic ladders, spa fittings and jets, and cleaning equipment.
Because every component is designed, moulded and assembled in-house, a distributor buys from one manufacturer rather than assembling a container from several trading sources — and the spare parts (seals, impellers, baskets, lids, multiport valves) come from the same production line as the units they belong to, years after the original shipment.
Specifying for Tunisia's conditions
Tunisia's pools are above all hotel pools: the resort coast from Hammamet through Sousse and Monastir to Djerba holds one of the largest hotel pool stocks on the Mediterranean, much of it built decades ago and now in a renovation and maintenance cycle. Around it sit the villa pools of the capital's suburbs and the coast, and club and school pools. Hotel plant rooms need commercial sand filters with real filtration area, multi-pump plant, overflow gratings and competition-grade fittings; villa pools need the skimmer-pool package. Both are in the catalogue from one factory.
Tunisia's grid is 50 Hz, as Egypt's is, so standard Waterstar pump motors, transformers and lighting are specified as catalogued; the 230/400 V supply in use is within the motors' rated tolerance, and the datasheet of each model states the exact figures.
Customs duty, VAT and documents for Tunisia
Egypt and Tunisia are both members of the Greater Arab Free Trade Area and of the Agadir Agreement (in force since 2006). Industrial goods of Egyptian origin enter Tunisia free of customs duty under either: with an Arab certificate of origin under GAFTA (40 % Egyptian value added), or with a EUR.1 / EUR-MED movement certificate under the Agadir Agreement and its pan-Euro-Mediterranean rules of origin. Tunisia applies VAT at 19 % on imports, settled by the importer at clearance. The importer of record confirms the current treatment with its customs broker; we issue the certificate of origin, commercial invoice, packing list and technical file with every shipment.
Any conformity registration the importing country requires for electrical or pool products is the importer's step; we supply the technical file, datasheets and factory test records it is built from, so that work is done from the manufacturer's data rather than reconstructed from a catalogue.
Shipping and commercial terms
Shipments leave from the Egyptian Mediterranean or Red Sea ports as full containers (20' or 40') or as LCL groupage, to Radès (Tunis) or Sfax — one of the shortest sea legs from Egypt in the whole export programme. Quotations are ex-works Badr City or FOB Egyptian port, in US dollars, with the container plan worked out from the catalogue's packed volumes so a distributor's first order fills the box it pays for. We do not quote transit times on this page: they depend on the sailing and the port, and the forwarder's schedule at order time is the only honest figure.
The distributor position in Tunisia
The Tunisian market buys through pool companies that build and maintain the hotel and villa stock, and through importers that supply them — several already know Waterstar from our 2026 correspondence. A manufacturer in Egypt, a short sea leg away and inside the same free-trade area, with a full range from one plant and spare parts from the same production line, changes the working capital a Tunisian importer has to tie up compared with buying from Europe or the Far East. We sell through distributors only — no direct sales and no installation in Tunisia.
A first enquiry gets the range with wholesale terms so a container can be priced properly, sizing support from the engineers who designed the equipment, and datasheets for every line you intend to stock. We do not ask for an exclusive commitment before that conversation. Send the project types you serve and the categories you want to carry, and we come back with a costed proposal.
