Floor Inlets for Bottom-Up Circulation
Adjustable-flow ABS floor inlets made in Egypt: 2 inch thread bodies for 1.5 inch or 50 mm weld pipe, a 63 mm hydrostorm version and a liner model for 50 mm pipe.
Why Circulation Should Also Come from the Floor
Wall returns alone struggle to move the coldest, heaviest water sitting on the bottom of a deep pool. Floor inlets solve this by injecting filtered water upward from the slab, lifting fine sediment into suspension so the filter can capture it and carrying heat and chemicals into layers a wall jet rarely reaches. In freeform shells, overflow tanks and deep ends, they are the difference between genuine turnover and water that merely circulates near the surface. Waterstar produces its floor inlets in ABS with an adjustable flow mechanism, letting the commissioning engineer balance several inlets on one loop so each opening contributes its share. All bodies are moulded under ISO 9001 control at the Badr City factory.
Four Bodies for Four Pipe Situations
Selection follows the pipe under the slab. The FI-1 combines a 2 inch outside thread with a connection for a 1.5 inch weld pipe, serving imperial networks, while the FI-3 pairs the same 2 inch thread with a 50 mm weld pipe for metric sites. Where the designer specifies hydrostorm-style bottom circulation on larger diameters, the FI-2 is welded inside a 63 mm pipe. Liner pools use a dedicated body, the ABS floor inlet for liner pools on a 50 mm weld pipe, whose construction seals the membrane at the slab penetration. Every version keeps the adjustable flow feature, so hydraulic balancing does not depend on which pipe standard the contractor inherited.
Setting the Slab Layout Right
Standard practice distributes floor inlets evenly across the deepest areas and along zones the wall inlets cannot sweep, keeping each unit clear of the main drain so flows do not short-circuit. Because the body is cast into the structural slab, its sleeve must be fixed to the reinforcement and protected before concreting; the flow adjustment is then set at commissioning, starting nearly closed on the inlets nearest the pump. Floor inlets complement the wall inlets and vacuum points from the same Waterstar embedded range. Project teams are welcome to send pool dimensions, depths and the pipe layout to the factory, and Waterstar engineers will return a floor inlet count and a full fittings schedule matched to the drawings.
