Vacuum Points: the Dedicated Suction Line for Manual Cleaning

Egyptian-made vacuum points for 1.5 inch hoses: glue-in bodies for 50 mm, 63 mm and 2 inch pipe plus liner versions with lock nut, threaded or weld connection.

A Suction Line Reserved for the Vacuum Hose

A vacuum point is a wall socket connected by its own suction line to the pump, kept sealed under a cover until cleaning day. When the operator removes the cover and plugs in a 1.5 inch vacuum hose, the full suction of the circuit is available without lifting a skimmer basket or throttling other lines, which makes vacuuming faster and keeps debris out of the skimmer throat. On commercial pools with long walls, a well-placed vacuum point spares the operator from dragging hose across the deck. Waterstar produces its vacuum points from UV- and chemical-resistant plastic and from ABS at the ISO 9001 factory in Badr City, in bodies for both concrete and liner construction.

Concrete Bodies and Liner Bodies in the Range

For concrete shells the range offers three glue-in bodies: the VP-1 is glued to a 50 mm pipe, the VP-2 to a 2 inch pipe and the VP-3 to a 63 mm pipe, so the point always matches the site pipe standard, metric or imperial. Each cover removes in seconds to accept the 1.5 inch vacuum hose and reseals flush afterwards. Liner pools take ABS bodies whose lock nut clamps the membrane: the VP-1-L-THR closes with a threaded cover of 1.5 inch and serves a 50 mm pipe, while the VP-1-L-WLD is welded directly to a 50 mm line. All liner versions seal the cut-out on both faces of the vinyl.

Positioning the Point and Completing the Circuit

Standard practice places the vacuum point at mid-length of the pool, roughly under the waterline, so a single hose reaches every corner of the floor with minimum slack; very long pools receive one point per section. The suction branch runs back to the pump ahead of the filter with an isolating valve in the plant room. The point pairs naturally with the Waterstar cleaning range, from the flexible vacuum heads that take the same 1.5 inch hose to brushes and leaf skimmers on the 29 mm telescopic handle. Send the pool dimensions and pipe layout to the Waterstar factory and the engineers will position the vacuum points and issue a full fittings schedule.

VP-1-L-WLD

ABS vacuum point for liner pools with lock nut, welded to a 50 mm pipe.

VP-1

Vacuum point for concrete pools, made of UV- and chemical-resistant plastic. A 50 mm pipe is glued inside; used with a 1.5 inch vacuum hose.

VP-3

Vacuum point for concrete pools, made of UV- and chemical-resistant plastic. Glued inside a 63 mm pipe; used with a 1.5 inch vacuum hose.

VP-2

Vacuum point for concrete pools, made of UV- and chemical-resistant plastic. Glued inside a 2 inch pipe; cover removes to connect a 1.5 inch vacuum hose for periodic cleaning.

VP-1-L-THR

ABS vacuum point for liner pools, 1.5 inch threaded cover with lock nut. For a 50 mm pipe.
