Keeping Pool Water Safe: Chlorination and Testing
How to keep pool water safe: hold pH at 7.2-7.6 and free chlorine at 1-3 ppm with Waterstar automatic chlorinators AC-12 and AC-24 and the TK-1 test kit.
What Balanced Water Actually Means
Clear water is not the same as safe water; I have drained sparkling pools that were biologically filthy. Safe water rests on two numbers held steady day after day: pH between 7.2 and 7.6, and free chlorine between 1 and 3 ppm. Inside that pH window chlorine does its killing work efficiently, bathers feel no sting in the eyes, and neither the pool shell nor the equipment is attacked. Drift outside it and the same chlorine dose can lose most of its power. Everything else in water treatment, dosing, testing, correcting, exists for one purpose only: to keep those two numbers pinned where they belong for the whole season.
Continuous Chlorination Without Daily Labour
Hand-broadcasting chlorine gives you a sawtooth curve: a harsh spike after dosing, then a sag into the danger zone by the next day. Our off-line automatic chlorinators smooth that curve. The AC-12 holds twelve chlorine tablets and the AC-24 holds twenty-four; each sits in a bypass off the circulation line and dissolves tablets steadily into the return flow, sanitizing pool and spa water while cutting periodic maintenance down to refilling the chamber and setting the dial. The result is a flat, dependable chlorine residual instead of the feast-and-famine cycle that manual dosing produces, and a pool that stays protected on the days nobody visits it.
Testing Is the Other Half of Treatment
A chlorinator without a test kit is a blind machine. Our TK-1 professional test kit measures the two numbers that matter, free chlorine with OTO liquid and pH with Phenol liquid, in a minute at poolside, and it is simple enough for personal use by a villa owner as well as for daily service crews. Fill the cells to the mark, add the drops, compare the colours, and you know whether to adjust the chlorinator dial or correct the pH before bathers ever notice a problem. Test daily in season; water chemistry moves faster than most operators believe, especially under strong sun and heavy bather loads.
A Routine That Holds All Season
The discipline is simple: test each morning with the TK-1, keep the AC-12 or AC-24 charged with tablets, log the readings, and correct small drifts before they become green water. Both chlorinators and the test kit are manufactured by Waterstar in our ISO 9001 plant in Badr City, Egypt, and supplied across thirteen MENA markets, so consumables and spares stay within easy reach. If you are unsure what capacity your pool needs or how to set the dial for your volume and bather load, write to our factory engineers with your pool size; they will return a clear dosing recommendation free of charge.

AC-24
Made in two capacities: 12 tablets and 24 tablets. Off-line automatic chlorinator, 24-tablet capacity, for sanitising pool and spa water and cutting the daily dosing routine.
Test Kit
TK-1
Professional test kit for free chlorine and pH, the two readings that decide whether pool water is safe and comfortable. Includes the OTO reagent for chlorine, phenol red for pH, the comparator block and colour scale.
Thermometer
T-10
Floating pool thermometer for measuring swimming-pool and spa water temperature. Read it at the same time each day to keep the water in the comfort range and to size heating or chiller run-times; water temperature also affects chlorine demand and the calcium balance, so it belongs on every...
