Spa Drain

Available options

Product Code: DS-WLD

Category: Spa Fittings

Made in two connections: 1.5 inch threaded and 50 mm solvent-weld. Anti-vortex spa drain, solvent-weld connection for 50 mm PVC pipe, for spa and jacuzzi pools. The domed anti-vortex cover spreads suction over its whole surface so hair and limbs cannot be held against it — the arrangement expected by entrapment-safety practice; always pair two drains on one line in a spa. Includes body, gaskets, plastic nut and screws. Fit at the lowest point of the spa floor to draw the coldest water to the heater and to allow the spa to be drained.

Frequently asked questions

How does the water/air jet mixer work?

Pressurised water from the spa pump passes through the venturi in the WAJ mixer, draws air in from the air line and delivers the aerated stream to the jet nozzle for the hydro-massage effect. One mixer is cast into the spa wall behind each jet position, solvent-welded to 1.5 inch pipe.

What does the air controller do?

The AC air controller sits on the deck at the head of the air line and lets the bather set how much air the venturis draw — from a soft stream to a strong bubbling massage — without touching the pump. The APB-1 air push button switches the spa pump on and off pneumatically, so there is no electrical switch near the water.

How are the jet nozzles adjusted?

The JN-1 directional flow ball fits inside the 1.5 inch pipe and turns to aim the aerated stream at the bather's back, shoulders or feet, so each seat can be tuned after the spa is filled. Screw the nozzles in after the tile finish is complete and set all nozzles on one pump to similar angles so the jets deliver evenly.
